Description
These are tank raised F1 Native Silver Gambusia holbrooki (aka Mosquito Fish) that I’ve bred and raised from parent fish native originally collected right near here in Florida at Crews Lake. The parent stock are black spotted Male AND Black Spotted (melanistic) Females, however they do sporadically produce a small amount of spotted fry. The males have a bright silvery-white body. They are a very active fish and swim very fast like a wild fish. They can live in stagnant ponds and do a terrific job of eradicating mosquito larvae. Placing these in a stagnant pond outdoors can do wonders. They can tolerate chilly 50 degree water as well as 95 degrees and will not require a heater indoors. They are a great beginners fish as well as a novelty for advanced aquarist. They hardly eat their fry. I have a pair at young breeder size up for sale almost the size of the actual fish shown in the photos for sale below. Visit my ‘about us’ Page for more info about the farm. I’ll gladly combine any other items you may be interested in purchasing from my farm to minimize your shipping cost. See list below for other items available. I welcome any questions, If you would like a 72 hour heat pack included and have your fish packed in a larger box (recommended if you want to increase the likelihood of a safe arrival of the fish and that they arrive in the very best condition), this is available for an additional $4.00 during checkout as a shipping option.
